About

I studied computer information technology first and psychology second, and finished with a B.S. in psychological science from Northern Kentucky University. Both halves ended up mattering. Research methods taught me to design a question I could actually answer, and the CIT coursework meant I could build the thing that answered it.

At Epic I owned test strategy for the backend and UI layers of a national health data integration, wrote the internal and customer-facing documentation for it, and reviewed designs for WCAG conformance. That last part meant checking how the software behaved for someone actually using it, which isn't the same as running a checker over a finished page.

Years earlier I worked the special services desk at a Home Depot. One of our regulars was deaf, and after a while I got tired of both of us guessing, so I taught myself enough sign language to do the job properly. It's the same instinct, and I've been following it a while.

I'm certified in EpicCare Ambulatory. Outside work I take photographs, including astrophotography, run a home automation setup that's more complicated than it needs to be, and do baseball analytics nobody asked for.

I'm looking for work in technical writing, accessibility, or clinical informatics, remote or hybrid. Email me at ClaireJordyn20@gmail.com.
